How people in Dallas shovel their sidewalks...

I was talking to Auntie Mimi last night, and she told me that she spent an hour or so yesterday afternoon cleaning off her sidewalk and driveway. While she was working, a man drove by, braked, backed up, rolled down his window and asked Mimi's permission to take her picture.

Here is where some mental imagery comes into play:

It was bitterly cold, so Mimi was sporting her full length mink coat complete with the hood up to keep her head warm. In one hand she carried a shovel and the other a broom. She'd hit the ice with her shovel (which you know wasn't a snow shovel because we don't have those down here), and then used the broom to sweep the blocks of ice off the sidewalk.

It the roads were any better between my house and Mimi's, I'd totally drive over there this afternoon and have her recreate the moment on film.

NOTE: This is probably one of those stories that is best if you know Auntie Mimi. She is fabulous.
