Happy New Year...

Yep. Still pregnant.

I really have nothing else to say about that except that a significant part of my day was spent repairing our doors with wood filler and touch up paint. I figured if the baby actually ever decides to come it might be nice to have, say, less evidence that my dog taught herself to open doors in our house with her paws.

Because, you know. The kid might notice or something.

(Yeah, I know: Irrational)

On a side note: I find it fascinating that Gypsy is smart enough to only try to open doors with handles she knows she can manipulate. All the other doors remain completely untouched. Not that this obvious sign of intelligence makes the fact that we can't relegate our dog to certain parts of the house without her liberating herself (and scratching the door in the process) any less irritating.

The remaining part of the day was spent driving around looking for black-eyed peas. I thought we were going to be unsuccessful until my aunt gave us her leftovers. I figured with the luck I've been having lately (still being pregnant/no baby, exploding dogs, etc.), forgoing the tradition of eating of black-eyed peas for luck on New Year's Day wasn't really an option. At least now I am covered thanks to the fabulous Auntie Mimi.

And because I really have nothing of interest to say, here is a picture of Trevor and Haskell contemplating each other this morning:

Happy 2012, y'all!
