Time to vote on an issue that touches us all...

Okay. Not really.

You should vote anyway, though (unless, of course, you plan on voting for LEGALLY BLONDE 2, and then you should definitely abstain from the democratic process).

Anyway, the 20th annual Genesis Awards are coming up on May 6th, and they are conducting an online poll to find out which Genesis Award-winning film has had the biggest impact on animals over the past two decades.

And your choices are:

  • Babe: For giving a face and soul to "pork" through a story about a very special pig.

  • Chicken Run: For taking an entertaining look at chicken farming...from the chicken's point of view.

  • Finding Nemo: For showing fish as living, feeling creatures through the tale of the world's most famous clown fish.

  • Free Willy: For raising questions about the ethics of keeping marine mammals in captivity.

  • Legally Blonde 2: For sending the message that cosmetics should not be tested on animals.

I pick Babe, since it was the only one I've seen.

    But what about Charlotte's Web?

Conversely, there's 101 Dalmatians, etc. that increased the breeding of dogs just to make a buck and b/c they were "in" at the time. not so good.

I also went with Babe, because it is a personal favorite of mine. I also LOVED Chicken Run and Finding Nemo, though, so it was difficult deciding between the three. In the end, I had to go with Babe because there is a Border Collie in it and Gypsy is half Border Collie...

Maybe Charlotte's Web came out before 1986? Is that possible? I guess it is, but WOW. I'm getting really old.

Deals! I imdb'd it. 1973! It's as old as my husband and he's OLD.

ha ha LIKE YOU EVEN COULD

ok, maybe I'll retract my vote OR I could borrow one of those super voter things that people use on American Idol because they have no lives and feel it is their duty to call in 5 million votes for the kid from the next town over who doesn't really sing all that well but is representing their state and darn it if their state doesn't deserve some representation. And then I could vote over and over and over again for LB2 and the little dog dressed up in matching pink outfits whose mom gets saved from being tested on by big corporation make up companies and then LB2 would be guaranteed VICTORY

see, how can you ignore something like that

see i told you so, you can't ignore me, I bring too much randomness to your life (although I think you might have an extra helping of randomness already and I am just adding on to surplus)
