Pregnancy is just full of little surprises disasters....

Being on my feet since 6:30 this morning obviously has its drawbacks.

Namely: Preggo's first cankles:

Because nothing says "sexy" like sock indentations, swelling and a little leg discoloration a good THREE HOURS after I took my socks and shoes off and propped my feet up.

All this may or may not explain why I am showered and in bed at 8 PM on a Saturday night. When you are this kind of hot, you tend to cut your losses and hit the sack early.

A photo recap of Texas/OU 2011...

Little nervous that this might be Trevor and I next year.
I mean, you can change a diaper pretty much any where, right?

UNCLE! MERCY! WHATEVER. JUST MAKE IT STOP!

You know it is setting up to be a long day when you find yourself regretting your bra choice EVEN BEFORE you arrive at work at 6:30 AM.

By 10 AM, you've already tried putting your bra on inside out in the hopes that it will magically cure the insane itch that has developed along the underwire.

Because, let’s face it, there are only so many different ways to discretely scratch yourself in public without looking like a creep. Especially on one of the museum’s highest attended days of the year.

And, of course, the itch may have nothing to do with the bra, and everything to do with Thor. Because my tummy also itches as well as my blasted head. All of which suggests that what I am REALLY having an allergy attack.

I think I would prefer the sneezing over the itching. But that might just be my current state of misery talking.

And my Pepcid is at home in my bathroom, and I am fresh out of Benadryl.

But what is REALLY depressing is that I am only 4 hours into a 13 hour shift.

It will be a miracle if I don't gnaw off a boob before the day is over.

I must have done something to piss Trevor off...

...because he keeps force feeding me broccoli and cooked carrots. Last night he even mixed some onions in there.

He obviously hates me.

In fact, he seemed to get some sort of sick pleasure out of watching me suffer and gag the veggies down.

It is just mean, I tell you. MEAN.

I am sure this is usually a tender moment for most mothers...

Thor was very active this morning, so I did something I've never done before: I raised my shirt and watched my stomach move.

And? Well, I now know where they got the inspiration for the movie ALIEN.

It was kind of creepy, and I kept thinking of an old X-Files episode where you could see this parasitic worm-like creature moving underneath its human host's skin.

Yes. That's right. I think "parasite" when I witness my unborn baby moving around in my belly.

It is very possible my maternal instinct wasn't installed properly at birth.

Which, of course, is why I keep Trevor around. He thought it was "cool".

God bless that boy and his situationally appropriate reactions to almost-fatherhood.

What Haskell thinks of Tampa Bay...

And, yes. He wore his jersey ALL day to ensure a Rangers victory.

Side note: Do you have any idea how hard it is to capture a dog sticking his tongue out on a not smart (a.k.a. VERY dumb) phone? With a weird photo capture delay I don't pretend to understand? And TWICE in one morning, to boot? All I was trying to do was take a picture of Haskell to prove to Trevor that the dog was, indeed, sporting his Rangers jersey. This is the one I finally sent Tevo:

Yo.

Trevor says I am weird. I think I'm practical.

Is it strange that I kind of hope Thor kicks my belly button out so I can finally clean my navel properly?

In case you were wondering...

...Haskell deserves all the credit for the Rangers' postseason win tonight against Tampa Bay.

The Rangers were down while Haskell got his biweekly bath. But the second he was (mostly) dry, Haskell donned his lucky jersey and the Rangers scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th.

Coincidence? I think not!

Good dog, Haskell. Good dog.
