Susie just thought Helen Keller was blind. She didn't realize that Helen was also deaf.
They thought of me because I've been a bit obsessed with Helen Keller recently. I did an oral history with a woman who photographed her in the 50s. As a wedding present, said photographer gave me a print of the picture she took. Great conversation piece. Especially since so many people don't realize that Helen Keller lived well into the 20th century (I think she passed in 1968). Plus, the image is gorgeous and makes for a fantastic conversation piece for this self described history nut!
