On Banner's minions...

Lest anyone think I've forgotten the Awesome Pawsome, here is an update:

You have to be nice to me.

Alley has gotten very ballsy since her tumor removal.  She will walk right up to your plate or glass AND look at you as she licks it, and she only listens to you if she feels like it (read: selective hearing).

I have cancer.

However, she rarely gets in trouble because, well, she has cancer.  It is her excuse for everything, and, because we all feel bad, she gets away with pretty much anything she can set her mind to.  At this rate, she will probably live forever.  Which would be fine with her (and us as well) as long as she continues to receive all the sympathy cookies.

The older he gets, the weirder he gets.
Lucky for him, he is very cute.  And we are very patient.

Haskell, on the other hand, has it rough.  Not because we ever got an official diagnosis as far as his kidneys are concerned (more like a wait and see kind of situation), but because he has developed a fear of (wait for it, wait for it) butterflies.  I wish I had a video of him being "attacked" in the backyard, because it is hysterical.  And to think that I've spent the past three years trying to attracted the winged insects by planting host and nectar plants in my garden.

Poor Haskell.  It is always something. And it kinda reminds me of THIS from over at Texts From Dog.  That would happen to Haskell, too.

And indoors isn't safe either, because Banner has started reaching for his canine siblings.  The girls take these opportunities to lick and wag their tails at the baby to let him know that they are "good dogs".  Haskell, however, gets all wide-eyed and freezes before backing away very, very slowly.  You'd think Banner was a venomous snake instead of a drooly, immobile, 17 pound human.

The only good news, as far as Haskell is concerned, is that his "cookie tree" is nearing harvest time.  Everyday he checks and rechecks it during his time in the big yard just in case he missed something.  Of course, fig season (as it pertains to Haskell) worries Trevor and I because of what happened last year.

Oy.

That dog, I swear.

Surprisingly, I don't really have anything new to report as far as Gypsy is concerned (except that we celebrated our 8th anniversary/her 9th rebirthday on May 18th).  So, here are a few pictures of her snuggling with her favorite toy over the last several weeks:

The pink piggie has been a favorite of Woo's for years now, and even got to stay with her at the vet last year during The Great Ear Hematoma Fiasco of 2011.  She loves the thing, and I find the fact that she likes to sleep with it every night exceptionally adorable.

So, there you have it.  The Awesome Pawsome is all healthy, happy and going strong despite cancerous tumors, kidney problems and, well, butterflies.

Poor Haskell! Life must be so hard for him sometimes. I'm laughing, but I do feel bad for him. Thanks for the Paws update! I've been wondering how they're doing.
