Teacher: "Attention, students! Absolutely NO flashing of gang signs while in the museum."
While on tour:
Me: "Who can name the six flags that have flown over Texas?"
Students: "..."
Texas History Teacher: "San Antonio?"

I'm glad the TAKS is going away. Maybe the EOC will let teachers be teachers and we can weed out the crap that's infiltrated just to find "an easy job".
That is REALLY sad! Let's see here: Mexican, Confederacy, Texan, American, Spanish, and I want to say French? Okay, it's really sad I'm blanking on that, but at least it's better than "San Antonio?" With a question mark, really? Okay, yes, the SA flag flies in Texas, but for that city, not the "territory" known as Texas. When I was teaching it, I could have named them in my sleep, b/c that was my job. I blame my ignorance on being a "foreigner." :P
