You don't really want to know what I think about this...

Just incase you were wondering how the City moves a large, archival collection:
  1. Unload a gazillion book carts on wheels from small convoy of semis.

  2. Put archival boxes from collection on book cart until full.

  3. Wrap entire cart in plastic wrap.

  4. Line hallways of museum with cocooned collection.

  5. Load Saran Wrapped carts back onto trucks for relocation.

The End

I do believe the museum hired a moving company to take up this venture. Sorry this is not a blame the City situation. Though the City might have taken the same tact.-Susie

No. We were going to do it ourselves, but then that was changed earlier this fall. They also decided which warehouse we were moving in to as well. Had we been in charge, the "move" would have happened before the State Fair. Probably would have not been handled much differently, but we would have had more say in how the whole operation was handled overall. But beggars can’t be choosers. Having the City move it saved us loads of money – even if the process involved plastic wrap.

Sigh.
