The drive from Ouray back to Durango...

Bear Creek Falls is a dramatic waterfall that you would never know was there if you were simply driving the Million Dollar Highway and not paying attention.  Last year, when we visited Ouray, they were building a new bridge and overlook, but we thought it was simply to offer tourists a better view of the canyon (yes, we are morons).

This year we stopped and were completely blown away by this:

Seriously.  How did we NOT know that was there?!

Of course, the overlook does not disappoint when it comes to scenery, either:

But the picture taking didn't stop there!  Here are some images of the beautiful sunset drive back to Silverton :

And JUST north of Silverton, not far from the Ice Lakes trailhead, we saw this little gem:

Yes, that would be a MOOSE!

Honestly, I had no idea that there were moose in Colorado, but apparently they were reintroduced in 1978 and it is estimated that there are around 1,000 in the entire state.  Talking about being in the right place at the right time!  From what I have read, moose sightings are extremely rare in the Centennial State.

And, finally, to cap off a fabulous day trip to Ouray, pizza to go from my favorite bar in Needles:

Yum.
